   ~ Helps body better use insulin that already exists
   ~ Decreases resistance to insulin
> Can produce bad stomach cramps

Thiozolidinediones
> Generic: Pioglitizone, Rosiglitizone
> Mechanism of Action: increase central and peripheral insulin sensitivity


Alpha Glucosidase Inhibitors
> Generic: Acarbose, Miglitol
> Mechanism of Action: Interferes with carbohydrate absorption in the gut

Meglitinides
> Generic: Replaglinide, nateglinide
> Mechanism of Action: Stimulate increased insulin production of short duration
